Maxime Nocher (Monaco) and Elena Kalinina (Russia) are the 2016 European Formula Kite and Kite Foil champions. They were declare Champions at the Seventh day of the championship organized by the Yacht Club Cagliari, with the logistic support of the Italian Army (Esercito Italiano).
Elena confirmed to be the Champions, has she was Champion even in the 2015. The young Monegasque, world champion in charge, has taken the place of the British Oliver Bridge.
They have won their title in front of the beach of the Cagliari Kite Beach of Poetto, full of bathers and Tourists attracted by a summer day and dotted sky of colored kites.
At the last day, Riders were divided into the following fleet:
- Platinum with the riders between the position from 1 to 10 of the fleet rankings (the only running race for the real win);
- Gold with the riders between the position from 11 to 20 of the fleet rankings;
- Silver with the riders between the position from 21 to 40 of the fleet rankings.
Kite Foil Formula Kite represents the most accredited kite discipline to participate to the Olympics Games, starting from Tokyo 2020.
Overall, the race committee kicked off 52 races in six days

Equipment may complied with the old “70cm” class rules and the new “registered foils” class rules, see IKA and World Sailing Websites. All equipment races were scored together.
Separate Rankings were produced for Youth/Junior and Masters/Grandmasters depending on entry numbers.
